National Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week

April 1-7, 2018 is National Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week.

The first full week of April every year has been set aside as a time to recognize the contributions and importance of graduate students in the US.

We celebrate and honor the Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants, graduate association leaders and all students pursuing graduate and professional degrees. We appreciate your vital contribution to academia. We recognize that your sphere of influence will continue to widen as you become our nation’s future business, political, scientific and intellectual leaders.

We also want to make sure you have all the support you need to succeed. For some the pressure of academic responsibilities are too much to handle. We’d like to take this opportunity to heighten awareness of the concerns and resources available to graduate and professional students to help them successfully navigate their degree programs. Will you help us, and your peers, by posting on social media the message below?  Also like us on Facebook at facebook.com/gradresources and follow us on twitter at twitter.com/gradresources.

National Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week celebrates the role of graduate students as TA’s and RA’s on campus today, as well as raising awareness to their future impact as leaders in academics, industry and government. However, the path to completing a graduate degree can be difficult. The National Graduate Student Crisis Line (877-GRAD-HLP; 877-472-3457) is available 24/7 to listen, connect and assist you right now. Grad Resources (www.gradresources.org) and the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students (www.NAGPS.org) are available to support you throughout the rest of the year.
